Viton™ Dipolymers A-Type Fluoroelastomer

Fluoroelastomers with Enhanced Properties

The Viton™ A-type family of fluoroelastomers are dipolymers comprised of hexafluoropropylene (HFP) and vinylidene fluoride (VF₂). They are used in a wide range of extrusion, injection molding, and solution coating applications, and some grades act as effective curing chemicals and metal adhesion promoters.

Typical products that use Viton™ A-type fluoroelastomers include:

  • O-rings
  • Valve stem and shaft seals
  • Parts with complicated shapes
  • Fuel hoses and tubing
  • Solution coatings for fabrics, tanks, and chemical containers

Features and Benefits

All Viton™ A-type fluoroelastomers offer temperature and chemical resistance, but different grades may also provide additional benefits, such as:

  • Lower viscosity
  • Faster cure rate
  • Less mold fouling
  • Improved mold flow and release
  • Improved compression set resistance and tear properties
